Pete Flude

Pete Flude (with Bongo)
'I truly enjoy teaching guitar and music, entertainment is in my blood. It's so awesome to see all the kids so happy! They love Bongo!..'
Pete is a professional musician, entertainer and guitar tutor originally from Birmingham England. Following in his parent's footsteps (both parents being professional musicians themselves), Pete has spent the last 23 years travelling and working worldwide in locations such as Europe, Vietnam, USA and Asia.
He has written music for musicals, computer games and released several original albums. Through these releases he has acquired equipment deals from Rotosound and Spear guitars and signed a worldwide publishing deal in Canada with legendary producer Mark S. Berry.
Whilst working as a facilitator and coordinator for the non-for-profit Catch Music, Pete met Faye and decided to work together. Using their own unique skills, they travelled to Vietnam to develop a music program for orphaned children with disabilities.
Following this experience the pair returned to Perth with the intention of creating a series of interactive musical community sessions which later became the basis of Bongo Bedlam.
Together Pete and Faye are in the process of writing, performing, and recording original music to be used in their Bongo Bedlam community sessions. They are also currently creating incursion workshops and performances for schools. Together through their community sessions and song releases, the pair aim to inspire, educate and raise awareness of Orangutan conservation and have some musical fun on the way!
Using his songwriting skills Pete has most recently written a children's book based on Bongo the orangutan, the main character and mascot of Bongo Bedlam. 'Bongo saves the rainforest', tells the background story of Bongo and the causes of his habitat destruction. Aimed for young children, this book aims to spread light on the issue of deforestation and the influence of the palm oil industry. Signed with Pegasus publishers, keep an eye out for release dates later this year.
Faye Flude

Faye Flude (with Bongo & Biscuit the Moodle)
'I trained as a concert flautist and had a great time performing in London.. but entertaining children here in beautiful Perth is where my heart lies. I love the fact we're also able to use our platform to help the orangutans...'
Faye is a classically trained orchestral flautist and a professional music teacher. She has a BMUS with first class honours in Performance (University of WA), and a DipEd (Edith Cowan University), specialising in Secondary Music Education. She recieved her tertiary education at Churchlands Senior High School, on a music scholarship for the flute.
Faye began her musical journey at the age of 8 after becoming fascinated watching her older siblings having their music lessons at home. Although Faye was always singing and loved to ‘muck around’ on her family piano, it was really the flute that took her interest.
After attending Churchlands Senior High School on a full music scholarship, Faye furthered her studies at the University of Western Australia and by this time was also playing the Saxophone and Piano. Graduating with honours and the Janet Anderson Prize for Woodwind, Faye was fully immersed in the world of classical music and performance. After completing the West Australian Symphony Orchestra Training Program Faye relocated to
London.
As an orchestral musician, Faye has performed both on stage and in the pit across Australia and throughout the UK. She has performed with the Fremantle Chamber Orchestra, St Georges Chamber Orchestra, West Australian Charity Orchestra, The Tait Chamber Orchestra, The Horizon Symphony Orchestra, New London Opera Group, PlayLovers WA, Hash Tag Opera Company and the Yorke Trust 2015 Summer Opera.
Faye has performed and participated at the Oxford Flute Summer Course, Australian Flute Festival and for masterclasses at the Hong Kong Cultural centre. She has also toured North America and Canada.
Some highlights of her past solo experiences include performing Bourne’s Carmen Fantasy as a soloist with the Australian Youth Orchestra, and her solo recitals at various London venues including St John’s Smith Square, St John’s Stratford, the Romanian Embassy, Holy Trinity South Kensington, and St Bride’s Church on Fleet Street. Following her interests in music therapy, Faye travelled to Edinburgh Scotland, and later returned to Western Australia where she began working as a music facilitator for non for profit “catchmusic” where she met Pete.
Bongo The Orangutan

'Ooohhh aaahhh aaahhh! I love playing the drums!...'
Bongo is a 10 year old Orangutan from the Borneo rainforest. His favourite food is mangos and he aspires to be a famous drummer one day. He loves his jungle home... but it's being chopped down to make way for palm oil plantations...
Bongo has traveled to Perth, Western Australia to raise awareness of the problem and along with his friends Faye and Pete educate the kids on things they can do to help!
Bongo is a passionate ape and music is his skill... he says that the best way to get everyone to notice is to play the drums really really loud! "Yay Bbay!'
To help Bongo on his quest, the Bongo team are proudly supporting Orangutan Foundation International Australia .
